BALLET & MADAME X

We finally got our costumes for a new ballet set to a Mozart piano concerto.  Classical romantic tutus.  The decolletage was typical of Odile's, the Black Swan.  Yet somehow,  I just kept thinking:

John Singer Sargent's "Madame X".

John Singer Sargent's "Madame X"

Sargent shocked the world at the Paris Salon when he presented "Madame X" in 1884.  Our choreography is nowhere near as controversial and racy as Madame X.  Still, perhaps that gives us license to dance our shoes off.

I'm off this weekend for the wedding, so most likely, no blog posts till next week.  See you soon!
