DE-CONSTRUCTION

Exhausted, disheveled and coated with dust.  That was me after a long day of design and construction meetings.


On site, we have plywood and chasms in lieu of floors.  Shiver me timbers.  I was walking the plank in many places.  The pirates had it easy.  Try that in 4 inch heels!  Call it a fashion tetanus shot-- platforms multi-tasking as a pin cushion for stray nails.





I appreciate all styles, all periods in practically anything -- fashion, architecture, art, literature, and so on. Today's get-up is a nod to Phoebe Philo's brilliance.  I was so excited when she brought a wave of '90s Minimalism back into fashion through Celine. (Ask me what I think tomorrow.  I may be praising the return of Baroque instead.)

    Your first line here has echoes of the song 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered'! However, "exhausted and disheveled" you may have felt, but your look was calm, assured elegance all the way. You wore a WHITE jacket to construction meetings - now that's impressive. Your building project looks and sounds pretty amazing.

    I love this look from you and I am just a little to excited by those wedges.

    I would describe my style as classic, pretty and whimsical but really it evolves so much I don't think that definition will stick for long.

    @Rosalind: My white blazer did get smudged, but it is amazing how much more visible dust is against black :-)
    @Angel: Your comment reminded me of my brother, a long-haired Brooklyn film-maker. He gets sunglasses from the women's dept. because they are so much cooler and larger!
