SERENGETI SCENE

This Foolish Aesthete was packing up for an upcoming trip to the Big Apple when the germ of silliness sprouted again.  An African print dress I was planning to take spurred me onto a safari.

A Serengeti Scene
The Sun paints the Serengeti sky with molten lava.  Zebras lay down their stripes across the savanna for the evening, to be donned again the next day.

Belt: L.A.M.B.
Scarf (as backdrop): Target

The African Print Dress sighs, resigning herself to resting behind zebra bars until day break.  She sidles up to a great big Baobab tree for the night.  Nearby, a Black Mamba snake coils up to rest.  "That was a close shave with a mongoose earlier today," says he.  The stars smile one by one.  Finally, the Lion sleeps tonight ...

Hmmm, this feels like a sequel to my other silly story, (click here ==> ) Spot the Leopard, from a month ago!

The dress by daylight:

Not exactly traditional African print, but Gwen Stefani's take on Tribal.  I  am still trying to figure out its multiple folds, drapes and pleats.  Maybe, there is no "right" way to have this hang.  If you see someone cocooned haphazardly in African prints, that would be me.

I am leaving for NYC mid-week and will be gone for 6 days.  So again, I must apologize if I am a bit quiet in the Blog-o-sphere.  I will try to keep up with blog-mail though and peek into your blogs.  And of course, my camera will be holstered by my side.
