GONE WRITING

Gone writing ...

... in someone else's blog.

Dear Bella, of The Citizen Rosebud, has kindly invited me to do a guest post.  Please hop on over to her site and enjoy her delightfully mischievous approach to vintage dressing (and I love all her fascinators!).

I've also tried to set up a Facebook page and networked it on Network Blogs, after Bella convinced me to do so.  I'm still not quite sure how it works, or if my posts will ever show up there!  Any tips welcome.  As you can see, I'm still more comfortable with feather quills ...

Please excuse my intermittent presence -- more like absence -- from the blog world.  My plate is currently so full.  But once in a while, I get to surface and drop by your blogs for some blogging inspiration.  Thank you for your visits and comments!

  4. Aw, J: I've missed you, and it's funny - I've also been off writing - so I love this photo. I would love to check out your guest post - just as I've never actually met you, in person, I haven't yet met Bella Q, but I like her: I just can tell she's a kindred spirit.

re: facebook, and networking, I'm feeling, since before 2012 started.. it's like my New Year's resolution was to go on a social media diet, so I'm the wrong person to ask. I did set up a facebook page, 'you've been dotted', but I keep forgetting to post my posts on it. I try to stay away from twitter, one day at a time. I just feel like the REAL world is so much more.. haha, REAL. And this online world, should be somewhere that we dip in and out of, but don't live in.

I'm just getting such an aversion to these kind of big bloggers - and some are even actually rather nice -where everyting they tweet or post is all about 'look how successful I am.' The self promotion thing can become a full time job. My suggestion is to keep on doing what you're doing - post what you want, when you want - and think of your blog like a pretty plant. Let it grow organically.

That said: soon as I hit send, I"m going to follow you on facebook! I'm such a hypocrite. ; ) xx

  8. It is always great to see you whenever you can make it. I also tried to set something up on facebook but am totally stumped and dont see/feel that it is right or looks good. I still don't get it either. I was hoping you would laugh when you saw the swan I was even thinking about you then the whole thing was happening and how you would react when you saw it. Glad they made you laugh too. Xxxx

  9. WOW Jenny! I just read your guest post and I love it. It's beautiful, interesting and well written - I like the selection of photos as well. I tried to comment on Bella's blog, but I do not have the same account settings that are listed there. Anyway send Bella my best wishes. (-:

    Sending happy thoughts your way!

  14. It seems many people are setting up Facebook pages for their blogs right now... I don't know if I can deal with the organisation of one more social media. But I gladly LIKE The Foolish Aesthete many times! X

  15. So, so enjoyed reading your guest post over at Bella's blog (I've been a fan of the lovely Citizen Rosebud for a long time). I'm beginning to hanker after a simpler life of fountain pens and notebooks and those days when people wrote letters and posted them! I can't imagine texts, facebook updates or twitter occupying the same place as all those amazing correspondences via pen and paper.
