-- Lord Polonius in Shakespeare's "Hamlet"
No wit here. Just brevity.
My husband strongly suggests I stick to Strunk & White's elements of style in writing. (Maybe verbally too?) Lesson No. 13: "Omit needless words." OK.

Dress and mask together. Just because. :-)
Happy London Fashion Week.

I break my oath of near-silence to thank Sabrina of Freaky Friday for giving me a:
Sabrina, a fashion student in Italy, is currently documenting the Miss Italia contest first hand. I didn't realize she had also written a book! And, her Friday photo shoots are fun. I am so honored and thankful for being included in her list of awardees.

Ha ha, this was actually one of the major advises I read for fashion bloggers: Keep it short and sweet. Sometimes it also just is the easier option... especially when worn out from LFW :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your award! xo

I think brevity is overrated because I'm nosy and want details details details! Hahaha.

Gorgeous photo! really vibrant and "shady"...
ReplyDeletehahaha its funny, brevity is actually something i have always struggled in my writing. I tend to ramble quite a bit (great in university but not so great for blogging!). See?! I'm doing it again?!

'Omit needless words' - goodness, there's something I need to practise more! In fact, I've just finished writing an essay on artist Georgia O'Keefe and realised it's around twice the length it's supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition of colour along with the shadows and light that are becoming one of your trademarks.
Beautiful words! <3
ReplyDeleteI love your writing I think is not to much not to little so in my opinion is about perfect :) I love masks they have such a mysterios feeling. x
ReplyDeleteI sooo agree with this post! Edit, edit edit is the secret for any artist.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your award :)
ReplyDeleteAnd than you!
xoxo
Haha, my husband says the same thing to me, not just in my writing, but in real life. 'Edit.'
ReplyDeleteI resisted twitter for AGES, my reason being that brevity is not my strong point.
Been thinking of you, and what you wrote about your dad also singing 'Day-O' - all during fashion week, when I had no time to visit blogs or even email. It is uncanny how similar we are. And then I discovered you wrote on Craig's post on Roz: Craig was one of the first people to support me, virtually. Then, literally: he was so kind to me when I met him at my first LFW, Sept 2009. And Roz.. Roz is practically family.
I can't get over how these wonderful people round the world somehow find each other. I love that. And thank you for sending me those memories, I want to figure out a way to put it together, respectfully.
Hope you're well. And I think I'd better shut up now! xoxo
Yay on the awar!.. How amazing is that hat?!
ReplyDeleteLove! ~Angel
btw: you inspired me - the brevity thing:
