LOVELY LAMP POST

I had meetings in downtown Los Gatos this afternoon.  Afterwards, I walked around with a cup of coffee and noticed this old-fashioned lamp post right by the downtown fountain.  I had never noticed it before!

This historic town -- home to John Steinbeck (where he wrote "Of Mice and Men" and "Grapes of Wrath"), and which has entertained the likes of Charlie Chaplin -- is now an affluent little town full of the brightest minds in the world.  The picturesque hillsides are teeming with Ph.D.s fueling Silicon Valley!  Thankfully, it still retains its peaceful, bucolic charm.
