TANGERINE & TURQUOISE

This weekend marked the kick-off for pool parties all over California.  School is out for most kids and the weather is finally cooperating.  Hello Summer!

Sub-consciously, the colors I  keep reaching for have been tangerine & turquoise.  It just evokes sun and water.  I've been digging my closet for these hues in various forms -- even down to prisoner-orange Zara pants (do I look like I'm fleeing from the US Penitentiary?).

Purse: Palm Beach vacation souvenir
Cuff: Kendra Scott in blue chalcedony
Necklace: actually a semi-precious detachable strap
from a clutch picked up in the Philippines

Sandals: Tory Burch
Beach hat: Target
Necklace: gift from sister

I scoured my bookshelves again and committed the proverbial sin of judging a book by its cover.  Yet somehow, F. Scott Fitzgerald's Tiffany blue cover seemed apt.  Long Island summers or the French Riviera are brought to mind when I think of Fitzgerald and the Jazz age.

What colors are you reaching for these early days of summer?

  1. These photos are gorgeous - tangerine and turquoise is a perfect summery mix! And Fitzgerald is one of my all-time favorites.

I recently invested in bright orange trousers from H&M, so I'm laughing at the prisoner reference! Love it! :)
